The extensive 5 acre gardens surround an Arts and Crafts neo-Georgian house built in 1913, designed by Walter Brierley, York (house not open). The grounds have been designed and restored by Michael Mallaby, to include a formal parterre with Baroque statuary, clipped box and hornbeam, a Long Walk with yews, shrubs and herbaceous planting, a traditional Kitchen garden, and Centenary rose garden. Homemade refreshments and stalls
